This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used and how well it performs. Cloudflare describes this as privacy-first analytics: it does not use cookies or local storage for analytics, and it does not fingerprint or follow individual visitors across websites.

The analytics show overall patterns rather than a profile of you. I use them to understand visits and page views, find popular or difficult-to-find pages, see where traffic generally comes from, and improve loading speed and usability. They are not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, or selling visitor information.

Cloudflare Web Analytics may collect and report broad categories such as:

• page views, visits, the website host, and the path of the page viewed;
• the referring website or whether a visit was direct;
• country-level location;
• device type, browser, operating system, and navigation type; and
• page-load timing and Core Web Vitals, including technical details about page elements that affect performance.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data, does not log URL query strings, and does not use IP addresses or browser details to track people over time for analytics.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless, so this website does not ask for cookie consent for that analytics service.

If you enter the password for a protected case study, the website sets a strictly necessary, secure access cookie named vy-project-access. It remembers that access for up to seven days, is limited to the work section, and is not used for analytics or advertising.

If non-essential cookies or additional tracking services are introduced later, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested before they are used where the law requires it.

Cloudflare currently makes Web Analytics history available for the previous six months. It states that unsampled beacon data is retained for seven days and then aggregated for longer-term reporting. I do not create or keep a separate visitor-level analytics database.

If you email me, your email address, message, and any information you choose to include will be used to respond to you. Email records are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, related work, or legal and administrative purposes.
